Subway accelerates its digital transformation with new menu boards
With more than 44,000 locations across 110 countries, Subway is one of the largest fast-food franchises in the world. Seeking to modernize the customer experience and optimize operations in Brazil, the brand established a strategic partnership with DFS (Digital Full Service), a Panasonic Group company, to digitize its menu boards.

Digital transformation with international reach
DFS was responsible for implementing the menu boards throughout Subway’s Brazilian operations, managing the project in a scalable way and aligned with the brand’s global guidelines. The success of this initiative led to its expansion into Mexico, marking a new stage in the network’s digital transformation.
As part of this process, DFS migrated all of Subway’s display network to the OnSign platform, specialist in professional digital signage.
Why OnSign?
The decision to adopt OnSign was driven by 3 strategic differentiators:
Robustness and scalability: advanced tools for managing large networks, with proven stability and performance;
Dynamic pricing integration: automatic updates of menu prices according to Subway’s predefined business rules;
Hybrid infrastructure management: centralized control of different types of hardware (Windows players, Tizen displays, and LG webOS monitors), ensuring flexibility and compatibility with the existing infrastructure.

Benefits for Subway
The adoption of digital menu boards has delivered significant operational and commercial benefits:
Dynamic pricing and intelligent content segmentation: campaigns, promotions, and products displayed based on time, day, or store location;
Enhanced customer experience: more attractive and modern product presentation, boosting satisfaction and loyalty;
Premium product upselling: digital content drives sales of higher-value items, increasing average ticket size;
Agility and cost savings in campaigns: faster and more affordable rollout of seasonal or promotional initiatives;
Modern look and sustainability: cleaner, more contemporary store design combined with energy-efficient displays.
